What is Commodity.Circle and how do I join?

Commodity.Circle is our free-to-join rewards program. Joining is simple: create an account with your name, email, and password. Once your logged-in, you’ll enjoy insider access to sales and promotions as well as points for all your purchases. If you have an existing account, you're already enrolled.

Do I earn points for past purchases?

For any purchases placed on or after January 23rd, 2024, you're in luck: we've been holding your points for you. Simply create an account using the same email you’ve used in your previous purchases to access your accrued points.

Do points ever expire?

Yes, Points will expire 6 months after you earn them.

Do tier levels expire?

Yes, your earned Tier (aside from Member) will expire 12 months after you earn them, unless you spend that same amount to keep your tier or keep spending to level up!

What if I'm missing points?

If something you've already completed shows as incomplete, like email sign-ups or Instagram or Tiktok follows, try clicking the provided links to relink your accounts.

If the task is already showing as completed, or if the points are not task related, please check your ‘Rewards history’ in your Rewards account to see if the points were added without you realizing it. Please note, it can take 24-48 hours for your points to show.

Missing points after referring a friend?

In order to earn points, your referred friend must:

  1. Be a first-time customer (has never purchased from Commodity before)
  2. Shop via your unique link that you’ve created through your Commodity.Circle rewards page.
  3. Complete their first purchase

If your referred friend fits all of the above, please check your ‘Rewards history’ in your Rewards account to see if the points were added without you realizing it. Please note, it can take 24-48 hours for your points to show.

Where is my redemption code?

You can find your code by going to https://commodityfragrances.com/account/login and logging into your account. After logging into your account, click "view my rewards" to check your points and discount codes earned. From there, click "rewards history" to view your entire rewards history, including your points and your code, which is listed under "status".

Is there a maximum number of points I can redeem at one time?

Yes, the maximum number of points you can redeem on one order is 500 points.

Is there a maximum number of codes I can redeem at one time?

Yes, the maximum number of codes you can redeem on one order is one.

What are discovery kits?

Discovery Kits are collections of 2ml samples. Each 2ml spray bottle contains a sample of every scent, so that you can try the fragrances at home and on skin. 

We offer Discovery Kits three ways:

By Fragrance - Already know what kind of fragrance you like? Vanilla, Woody, Green, etc? Then start by selecting the Scent Space Kit of the fragrance you prefer.

By Scent Space - Already know how strong you like your fragrance? Whether you prefer fragrances that fill the room, stay close to you, or maybe fall somewhere in between? Then start by selecting the in your Kit preferred Scent Space: Personal Discovery Kit, Expressive Discovery Kit, Bold Discovery Kit

By Collection – Want a different fragrance for your different plans, preferences, and vibes? Or just want to try all the Scent Space fragrances?  Then start with our Exploration Kit: All 6 fragrances in all 3 Scent Spaces.

What size are the vials/samples in the discovery kits?

All of our Discovery Kits include 2ml sprays that will last you about 15-30 sprays each.

Do you sell individual samples?

Currently, we do not sell any individual samples. Samples are only available in pre-assorted Discovery Kits.

Can I have a free sample?

Unfortunately, we don't offer free samples unless specified during a promotion. Sign-up to our emails to get notified of our next promotion for a free sample.

Do discovery kits come with a discount on my next purchase?

Yes! Designed for you to find a fragrance you love, each Discovery Kit on our site includes a discount code for the same amount as the full price of the Kit. This discount code will be digitally provided to you once you make a purchase of a Discovery Kit on our site and can be applied towards your next purchase of a full-size 100mL fragrance on our site.

Are your fragrances for men or women?

Commodity fragrances are unisex! For you to decide what’s for you and what’s not for you. If you’re looking for scents that are considered to be more traditionally masculine or traditionally feminine, check out our blog posts. If you want a specific recommendation based on a fragrance or a note you know you like – contact us! We’re happy to provide you with some suggestions.

What is "Scent Space"?

Scent Space is a new concept that describes how far your fragrance projects around you. In other words: projection.

We’ve created Scent Space so that you can choose your ideal projection among our fragrances:

Scent Space: PERSONAL
A soft, intimately-projecting skin scent that invites closeness.

Scent Space: EXPRESSIVE
A balanced, noticeable projection that makes a mark, not a scene.

Scent Space: BOLD
A powerful, room-filling projection that stands out.

Why are there 3 versions of the same fragrance?

We want to give you control over how far your scent projects–over who experiences your scent–so we coined the term Scent Space. Three different versions of your favorite scent to go with every projection preference and occasion:

The EXPRESSIVE version is the starting point for Scent Space. These scents are considered to have a perfectly balanced and noticeable projection that’ll make a mark, not a scene.

The PERSONAL version is for those who prefer a subtle, intimately-projecting fragrance that invites closeness. These soft skin scent renditions have been infused with molecular notes so that they only have a trace of their 'Expressive' counterpart. 

There is no modesty when it comes to the BOLD Collection. These are powerful, room-filling renditions of their Expressive counterpart, infused with deep, dark notes that’ll make your presence known.

What is the "Archive" Collection?

Before Scent Space, there was the Archives. A spectrum of intuitive scents with a perfectly balanced and noticeable projection, comparable to the Expressive Scent Space. You can try all of the Archive fragrances in our Archive Collection Discovery Kit.

These scents are specially made available in year-round drops, so make sure you’re signed-up to our emails to get notified of our next drop.

Why can't I find Orris, Tea, or Tonka?

Unfortunately, Orris, Tea, and Tonka were discontinued in 2021, but that’s not to say that they won’t make a surprise comeback! Subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated. 

My fragrance smells differently?

This is a pretty normal phenomena! We can confirm that we have not changed any of our formulations. New fragrance bottles tend to smell different than older fragrance bottles and samples. This is usually due to oxidation. Fragrance oxidizes over time, meaning that the older and more frequently used the scent is, the greater the chance that oxygen gets into the bottle. This introduction of oxygen to your fragrance juice causes the alcohol in your fragrance to dissolve, the First (aka top) Notes to flee, the color to change, and even the scent to get stronger.

My fragrance doesn't last?

Many brands rely on chemicals called phthalates to make scents artificially last longer on your skin. We don't use phthalates because they can cause skin irritation and are also suspected of endocrine disruption. The safer, more natural option is to reapply your scent throughout the day. Is Commodity Clean?

We are paraben-free, phthalate-free, and sulfate-free. We've also removed any other toxins or flagged ingredients. You can learn more on our Roadmap to Ethics.

Is Commodity Sustainable?

We've defined what sustainable means to us and then laid out an actionable roadmap with all the steps we'll be taking towards becoming sustainable. You can follow along here.

Is Commodity Vegan?

Yes. We do not use any animal byproducts in our formulations.

Does Commodity animal test?

No, we do not test our products on animals nor do we use any animal byproducts in our formulations. We're also Leaping Bunny certified.

Does Commodity contain Parabens, Phthalates, and/or Sulfates?

Commodity fragrances are paraben-free, phthalate-free, and sulfate-free. We remove any toxins as soon as they become known.

Are these EDPs, EDTs, or Parfums?

We've moved away from these terms because they simply don't apply.

Scents with low concentrations tend to fade quickly, and just because someone wants a close projection doesn’t mean they’re willing to sacrifice longevity.

This is why all Scent Space fragrances have concentrations between 15% and 25%. See our guide for more details.

Yes, the customer is responsible for any Taxes (VAT), Customs Duties, and/or Shipping Fees that might be charged.

When will my order be delivered?

Do you offer free returns?

Unfortunately, we do not offer free returns.

However, we do have Discovery Kits which provide a low-stakes way to try any fragrance of interest before you buy the 10ml or 100ml size.

If you do buy the 10ml or 100ml size and then change your mind, there is a $10 return fee.

Can I return everything that I buy?

All Discovery Kits and Samples are final sale, so they cannot be returned.

10ml and 100ml products can be returned for a fee if they meet our Return Conditions.

Return Labels can be made for a flat fee of $10.

The Discovery Kit is not what I expected. Can I return it?

Unfortunately, all Discovery Kits are final sale. As noted on the product page, these include 2ml fragrance samples which should allow for about 15-30 sprays so that you can try the scent on your skin. They should also arrive with a booklet and a promo code. If you suspect that you are missing a component, please email our Customer Service team.

My bottle arrived damaged?

Sorry about that! Please Contact Us at your earliest convenience with images of the low-filled product so that we can send you a complimentary replacement.

Some of the samples in my Discovery Kit are leaking or empty?

How does it work?

Shop Pay offers customers the option to pay in full at checkout, or to split their purchase into 4 equal, interest-free installment payments (Powered by Affirm) for orders between $50 USD and $3,000 USD. There are no additional charges, interest rates, or late fees passed on to customers.

Customers' credit scores aren't affected if they use Shop Pay Installments. However, if a customer doesn't pay their installment, or they make a late payment, then they might not be eligible to make purchases using Shop Pay Installments in the future.

Are there late fees?

No, there are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment.

What is the option to pay in installments on Shop Pay?

When checking out with Shop Pay, you now have the option to pay now or later. Paying in installments on Shop Pay allows you to split your purchase amount into 4 equal, biweekly installment payments—with 0% interest, no hidden or late fees, and no impact on your credit score.*

In some instances, your first payment is due when you make your purchase; otherwise, your first payment is due 2 weeks after your purchase.

What if I make a return on a purchase made through Installments with Shop Pay?

If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:

- A smaller payment balance on the final payment
- Less future payments on the remaining loan balance

If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original debit card or credit card payment method within 3 to 10 business days.

Which payment methods are accepted if I use the option to pay Installments on Shop Pay?

The installments option on Shop Pay is available on debit and credit cards. Unfortunately, Capital One are not accepted.
