Year in Review: Our Top 5 Highlights From 2022

Before the new year begins, we want to take a moment to look back on our first full year in business and share our plans for the future. In 2022, we celebrated our relaunch by expanding our global presence, collaborating with other industries and much, much more.


International Expansion

We launched websites for the UK, Europe, and Australia, which means localized online shopping, localized languages, and quicker delivery times. Our goal was to make shopping for our products even easier for the international community, and we plan to expand on this goal in 2023.


Sephora ‘Homecoming’

We relaunched in 150+ Sephora stores in the US and Canada, as well as on sephora.com. We call this our “homecoming” and are excited for longtime fans to discover Commodity all over again. You can find the closest store near you here.


A Collaboration for ‘Book Lovers’

We also bundled our bestselling Book Expressive fragrance with the New York Times bestseller Book Lovers by Emily Henry. The collaboration included a giveaway and limited-edition set of Book Expressive and signed copy of Book Lovers, plus a personal letter from the author written exclusively for Commodity fans.


The Return of Fan-Request Products

Since relaunch, fans have been requesting the return of travel-size fragrances. We delivered on this request for extended product sizing with 10ml travel-size fragrances. We also released a new product category of limited-edition Scent Space Candle Sets.


A Commitment to Ethics
We committed to ethical practices by publishing our Ethical Roadmap. This holds us accountable and outlines our next steps. This year, we disclosed our full ingredient list, became Leaping Bunny certified, and defined our own "Clean," "Sustainable" and "Responsible" standards for transparency within the fragrance industry.

Currently, U.S. customers can choose to offset emissions created by their shipments, which goes toward reforestation efforts. We also use recycled materials for packaging. Eventually, we look to offset all global emissions and become fully recyclable, among other goals.

A Sneak Peek at 2023

This momentous year has already made us eager for 2023. We hope to open an ultra-modern storefront in New York City, release a new, limited-edition fragrance, and continue collaborating with other brands and influencers. 

We also plan to host global pop-up events and offer store-exclusive products.

Overall, 2022 was a memorable year, and we have our fans to thank for that. We are looking forward to a promising future in 2023–together.
