Sense of Summer Series: Scenic Hiking Trails in the US

Sense of Summer Series, Week 4

As a Modern, American Perfumery, we are excited to kick-off our ‘Sense of Summer’ series, formerly known as Summer Fridays. All season, we’ll be uncovering hidden gems across the US that'll awaken your 5 senses.

As summer begins to wind down, we're wrapping up our series with “touch.” Keep your favorite version of Moss within reach and join us as we explore the best hiking trails to visit across the US.

Big Sur, CA

Recognized as one of the world’s most unforgettable coastlines, Big Sur features roughly 90 miles of redwood, rugged cliffs, and scenic views.

Located near Carmel-by-the-Sea on winding Highway 1, Big Sur is one of the best places to get in touch with nature from its secluded cove to towering redwoods. In addition, you’ll find Bixby Bridge, one of the most photographed bridges in California.

Feel the touch of the rocks beneath your feet as you take in the amazing views. There are plenty of hiking trails along this west coast destination, ensuring your itinerary will be full of exciting things to do during your visit.

White Mountain National Forest, NH

Located in New Hampshire and western Maine, White Mountain National Forest is home to several hiking trails, serene mountain lakes, and majestic scenery.

You will truly get a feel for adventure at this 800,000 acre destination that’s known for having some of the best recreation opportunities in the North East.

There are plenty of activities that touch on all 5 senses. Whether you are hiking the trails and conquering the challenging terrain or snowshoeing in the winter, you’ll find something to enjoy all year round.

Deadman’s Pass Trail, Arizona

It’s no surprise that Arizona is home to amazing mountain ranges and natural rock formations, and Deadman’s Pass Trail is no exception.

Located near Sedona in Coconino National Forest, Deadman’s Pass is a 9.6 mile out-and-back trail that leads to the picture-perfect Devil’s Bridge.

Despite its name, this natural sandstone bridge offers heavenly views and is considered Sedona’s most photographed natural arch.

While it’s considered a moderately challenging hike, it is one of our favorite hiking trails to touch and feel nature’s true beauty.
