Sense of Summer Series, Week 1: 3 Open-Air Music Venues to Tune Into

As a Modern, American Perfumery, we are thrilled to kick off our 'Sense of Summer' series. We'll share our favorite hidden gems across the US that'll awaken your 5 senses all season long.

Starting with “sound,” we’ll uncover our favorite outdoor music venues throughout the country. Picture the echo of live instruments, crowds cheering, and the rustle of a breeze drifting through it all. It’s the perfect soundtrack to summer.

Bethel Woods–Catskills, NY

Bethel Woods is an open-air venue in upstate New York, home to the original Woodstock of 1969.

Offering live music and lush natural scenery, listen to the sounds of live music echoing throughout the landscape of rolling hills.

Between sets, explore local eateries and antique shops, and enjoy the town’s laid-back charm.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater–Morrison, CO

The only naturally occurring amphitheater to be considered “acoustically perfect,” attending a show at Red Rocks is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Nestled between two towering, 300-foot sandstone monoliths, this geological wonder has hosted musical greats like The Beatles, the Beach Boys, Stevie Nicks, and more.

When the show is over, grab a bite on-site, check out the Performers Hall of Fame, or walk through the numerous hiking trails.

Millennium Park, Chicago, IL

Designed by Frank Gehry, this iconic outdoor venue features a cutting-edge sound system supported by a trellis of curving steel beams.

Engineered to mimic the acoustics of an indoor concert hall, it delivers crystal-clear sound whether you're front row or lounging on the Great Lawn.
