The Editions: Highlights from our Latest Drop (And What You Missed)

Twice a year, we make our Archive fragrances—now part of our Editions Collection—available online for a limited time. This collection is typically only available year-round at our SoHo flagship, so these drops give you an opportunity to experience past fan-favorites, discontinued scents, and retired classics no matter where you live.

The latest drop just closed, and spoiler: it did not disappoint. From unexpected best-sellers to an iconic fragrance making its return, this one was noteworthy. If you missed it, here’s what went down—and how not to miss the next one.

Our most exciting reveal: the return of Orris

Originally launched in 2017, Orris quickly garnered a cult following for its intricate balance of powdery orris, bright pink pepper, green lily-of-the-valley, and sweet vanilla. When Commodity was re-founded in 2019, Orris was discontinued—but fans never stopped asking for it. With this latest Editions drop, Orris made its long-awaited, highly-requested return. Didn’t get to try it? Not to worry, it’ll be back with our next drop, too.  Sign-up for first access to Orris →

Our biggest tip: Try before the drop

Ahead of the drop, we open up two ways to try the Archive collection and Orris: an Archive Bestsellers Discovery Kit and an Archive Complete Discovery Kit. These Discovery Kits allow you to try all the fragrances that will soon be dropping, and in doing so, take the guesswork out of fragrance. This way you’re fully prepped and ready to select your favorite full-size fragrances when the drop goes live. No longer available to shop, make sure to sign-up to get notified as soon as the Kits open up ahead of the next drop.

Our sold-out event: Orris’ big night out

We kicked off the drop, and International Fragrance Day, with a sold-out event at our flagship SoHo store co-hosted by Orris’ Lover: Fragrance Expert & Comedian Emma Vernon, Hater: our Re-Founder and Brand Architect Vicken Arslanian, and Maker: Master Perfumer Stephen Nilsen. Guests enjoyed champagne and bites, while listening in on a lively debate about the soft-floral fragrance, sampled the fragrance, and deep-dived into the namesake note with a Masterclass. The tickets sold out well in advance of the event, so pro tip for the next event: make sure to snag your tickets early. Get notified for future events →

In high demand: Fan favorites and new floral breakouts

Two standouts from this drop were Rain and Wool (no surprise there)—both our longtime Archive fan-favorites. The surprises? Orris and Nectar also climbed the charts. The two florals proved that Editions isn’t just about bringing back the classics—it’s also about unexpected favorites quietly becoming cult hits. And with Orris clearly proving it was worth the comeback, it has us wondering: which other retired scents deserve their second chance?

Don’t miss out next time: Here’s how…

Didn’t get in on the action this time around? Don’t worry. Our next Editions drop will take place in September. Just make sure you’re signed up for our newsletters to stay in the know.

Can’t wait that long? Visit our flagship SoHo store where you can shop IRL the Archive fragrances all year round.
